MATCH REPORT - 29/12/07- Division One
WORTHING UTD 1 - 1 RINGMER Ringmer came home with a disappointing draw this Saturday, the second in three day's. The game at Worthing Utd's ground seemed to be an uncontrolable affair with a strong wind blowing down the field. The Blues did not capitalise on this in the first half and found it hard going in the second with passing becoming unpredictable. Worthing looked the more comfortable with the conditions and looked the more dangerous in the closing 15. The Ruffles Report
The Under 18s kicked off the New Year with a convincing away win at Wealden. The heavy conditions under foot called for stamina and hard graft to get this result, both Bob and Steve had prepared their squad well for this tough encounter.
MATCH REPORT - 03/01/08- U18 SCFL YOUTH CUP
WEALDEN U18 1 - 4 RINGMER U18 Ringmer fielded a starting XI with 5 changes to the team that faced Rye back in late October. Jack Stern made his first appearance in a Ringmer shirt as Matt May, the regular 2nd XI keeper, was unavailable for selection today. Ringmer kicked off the first half and from the off both teams battled hard in the middle third, but created only a few chances on goal. Read Rob's Report Ringmer’s poor run of form continued on Saturday with a defeat against high-flying East Preston. There were, however, some positives for the Blues to take away from this performance namely an outstanding display at the back from young Will Broomfield and a promising debut from another newly signed youngster Jo Jo Tubon. RINGMER RES 4 - 1 SOUTH BERSTED
This game got underway at the second time of asking on a remarkably good Caburn surface, having been postponed last Saturday due to a water logged pitch. The Reserves put in another talented and convincing performance that was exciting and entertaining to watch (as always), but most importantly sees them through to the next round of this competition.
For a few of Bob & Steve’s U18s and 2nd XI squad this was their third game in four days, so a bit of shuffling of the starting eleven was required. For a few of the squad (particularly the Brighton contingent) this game carried with it more than just three points. It also had significant bragging rites with ex-team mates lining up opposite them.

RINGMER U18 7 - 1 SALTDEAN U18
This was a convincing away win for the Ringmer U18s against tough opposition. Both teams attempted to play some good football on a tricky surface and both battled hard for the full 90 minutes.

MATCH REPORT - 22/01/08- JOHN O'HARA CUP R4
HASSOCKS 0 - 1 RINGMER
The biggest crowd of the day in the County League braved a bitterly cold wind to watch two sides that were desperate to end long sequences without a win. The Ruffles Report
Games between these two sides are invariably close encounters and this John O’Hara League Challenge Cup quarter final match was no exception. The tie was eventually settled in Ringmer’s favour with one moment of pure magic. Ringmer will now meet East Grinstead Town in the semi finals.
MATCH REPORT - 19/01/08- DIVISION ONE
SELSEY 2 - 1 RINGMER
This was the return fixture of the previous meeting of the two sides back in September, when Southwick ran out eventual winners in a fiercely competitive game with only few attempts on goal. Today’s game was a more open affair with both sides keen to play some good football.
MATCH REPORT - 27/01/08- U18 CENTRAL DIVISION
SOUTHWICKU18 4 - 2 RINGMER U18's
With two mid-table sides separated only by goal difference a close encounter was expected but instead Ringmer fans were treated to a goal-feast reminiscent of the Blues early season form.
Ringmer’s 2nd XI suffer their first league defeat of the season, away to St Francis Rangers, ending their unbeaten run of 10 league games.

RINGMER 5 - 0 HAILSHAM Another five goals from the Blues tonight to make it ten from the last two matches and more importantly a much needed six point, kick starts their climb back up the table. Hailsham went one man down after nine minutes after a sending off and struggled all match to put anything together of note after missing two good chances in the first half. Take nothing away though from Ringmers domination with another pile driving 20yd shot from Joe Dryer, and goals from Dave Souter, Mark Whiteman and Miles Scerri. Report to come |
