What is the News Blog?
The News Blog hopefully will be a place to catch on the local football club news (mainly County one and the bigger clubs like Lewes etc) taken from various posts and newspapers. I will attempt to keep it up to date but we shall have to see how it goes

Holding there own for the rest of the 1st half they came back with a vengeance in the second and kept Town under pressure for a full 30 mins with constant attacks from the off. Captain Nick Barden pulled a goal back after only 5 mins but despite many good chances and with the visitors keeper on form, it became increasingly apparent that this was not Ringmer's day for netting balls. Ultimately the gamble had to get bigger with the Blues, so an all out assault in the last fifteen left the defence a little bare, whom had been cleaning up quite succesfully any attempts by Chatham throughout, but inevitable with any gamble there are risks and it was then that Town broke through and extended their lead.                                                        The Ruffles Report

As the score line suggests, this was a rather one sided game. Redhill, despite being on the receiving end of a rather crushing defeat continued to compete for every ball throughout the full 90 minutes         Match Report

A party of the Green Army of Argyle Visits the Caburn

(Left) Chairman Richard Soan said "It was terrific to have these Plymouth Argyle Supporters here at the Caburn,, they were a great bunch and they would certainly be welcome at the Caburn anytime they don't have a fixture of their own to go to"

Nick Barden was their choice for the Man of the Match award

Ringmer's  crowd for Saturday's FA Vase fixture was boosted by a contingent of Plymouth Argyle FC Supporters who, in the absence of a fixture for their favourite team, decided not only to descend on  the Caburn but also to sponsor the match. Here (pic right) are Lee Jameson, Richard and Carol Leopard, Phil Burnham-Richards and others from the Plymouth Argyle Supporters Club (London Branch) surveying the pitch prior to the game. They greenies boosted the decibel reading at the ground and spured on  the Blues to their   4-2 Victory. After the match

Ringmer 1 - 2 Whitehawk

REPORT - 11/09/07 U18's FA Youth Cup   Ringmer 1 - 7 Haywards Heath

The trouble with “preliminary rounds” is they tend to come early in the season. Tonight it seemed it was too early for the Ringmer U18s. Meeting strong opposition will highlight weaknesses in any squad, especially one that is newly formed and still learning                      Full Match Report

OUT WITH THE OLD IN WITH THE NEW
There were some old and new faces battling it out at the Caburn tonight when the Wealden 2nd XI assisted by some old Ringmer players took on the predominantly new looking and youthful Ringmer 2nd XI.

REPORT - 15/09/07-Division 1 - Ringmer 1 - Worthing Utd 0

Atrocious, the only word for the visitors game plan, Ringmer tried to play the game of football but yet again the play was marred by tactics that were more akin in the wrestling ring. Worthing Utd constantly blocked and fowled there way through the match, consequently neither side had many chances on goal. Mark Price eventually guided the ball into the net for Ringmer but Dan Evans had his spot kick saved, Utd finished with only eight left on the pitch, say's it all i'm afraid.

Webby's Quick View
Nothing spectacular in this match between two very equal sides on the night. With very few scoring chances and with much of the game in the middle third it wasn't until the second half that we saw the first goal after Hailsham  scored. Ringmer then eqaulized 14 minutes later with a goal from Ryan MacMillan but despite a more concentrated effort by the Blues they could not penetrate the home defence and as predicted by many ended in a draw.       The Ruffles Report

REPORT - 22/09/07 - FA VASE Q2
Ringmer 5 - 2 Sidlesham
In an evenly matched first half there was plenty of action at both ends of the field. In the first minute Jordan Willis was allowed a free header at the Ringmer goal but he could only direct the ball straight into the hands of Joe Adams.

St Francis Rangers U18 2 - Ringmer U18
There are some fixtures in a season where a point away from home would be considered a satisfactory result, but this was not one of them. Despite having a few players out through injury, Ringmer had enough quality throughout their squad and some top quality coaching to walk away with all points today.

MATCH REPORT - 25/09/07- RUR CUP R2
OAKWOOD 1 RINGMER 6

Ringmer stuttered at the start with an eighth minute goal from Oakwoods Nmb 7 Jamie Dean. Immediately Ringmer awoke and started work, turning on the taps to let the goals flow. 1-4 up at the break things looked good but Oakwood came back with repeated attacks in the second half keeping the Blues defence busy but leaving Joe Adams in goal with little to do as each attack broke down. The ever hard working Mark Price was on for goal when he was brought down for a penalty in which Miles Scerri converted for no 5. Then in the dying minutes Ryan Betsworth claimed his first goal playing for the 1st X1 and Ringmer's sixth.
