Ringmer 2^nd XI – 3 v 1 – Redhill 2^nd XI

There is no doubt that Redhill would not have wanted a repeat of their first encounter against the Ringmer 2^nd XI at whose hands they suffered their heaviest home defeat on record at the start of this season. One minute into this fixture there could only have been one thought on their minds as James Novis put away Rob Frost’s cross to give the home side a very early lead. Over the next 45 minutes Ringmer were rampant, creating chance after chance after chance with Patel, Sowter, Munnery, Storrie and Novis each finding themselves with excellent scoring chances, each coming close, but no cigars.

Ringmer were just as dominant in the second half as they were in the first and in the 50^th minute Sam found the net finishing off an excellent move between Kieran Patel and Ryan Storrie by firing home into the bottom right hand corner.

Four of today’s starting line up had already played a part in the Ringmer first XI fixture this afternoon. To freshen things up Bob brought on his three substitutes, who’d kept the crowds entertained during the half time break (well Amro reckoned it was entertainment worthy of a mention) Shortly after this Redhill momentarily took advantage of the reshaped Ringmer side firing in a goal mouth scramble in the 73^rd minute which wasn’t cleared. Ringmer’s response was immediate and Kieran Patel scored a great solo effort by very coolly rounding the keeper and slotting home Ringmer’s final goal of the season in a style that was befitting of his and this side’s season long performance. This last convincing victory was a great conclusion to a great season, by a great squad of players, coaches and Managers.
