Match Team and Report
Ringmer FC verses Bexhill Town Youth in Youth Cup Sunday 11/10/09

Bexhill Town U18 0 – 3 Ringmer U18

Sussex FA Youth Cup

11/10/09

Report by Brian Henderson

The team travelled down to Bexhill to play Bexhill Town Youth, who are in the Crowborough League, in the second round of the Sussex FA Youth Cup.

Again the team was changed for various reasons with Tom Marchant replacing Phil McDonald in goal and Jordan Lee, in midfield, returning after illness and a holiday.

Ringmer started very well and were playing the short passing game that we prefer, after only 5 minutes play James Kite hit the bar. We continued to press forward but as has happened recently the final ball or shot was rather wayward. On the 21st minute a Kite shot brought out a very good save from the Bexhill keeper and a minute later another good save was made from a Jordan Lee shot.

The breakthrough came on the 24th minute when Charlie Miles threaded a great ball through to Kite, who, after controlling the ball well, slotted it into the net. The pattern continued and Ben Courtnage scored on 35 mins again from another through ball from Miles. The team seemed to relax for a short spell but resumed control towards the end of the half.

The second half was only 2 minutes old when Kite hit the post with another good shot. Louis Finney was replaces by Jake Allen on 51 minutes resulting in a few tactical changes and while these bedded in Bexhill created a good scoring chance that was saved very well by Marchant in the Ringmer goal.. Kite was then substituted by Jordan Allen on 65 minutes, a straight change of attackers, and on 75 minutes Jordan Allen scored our third goal following a cross from Luke Duchossoy. The final substitution was Louis Brown replacing a tiring Jordan Lee.

There was no further score so Ringmer won 3- 0.

Bexhill played their full part in a good competitive game. Ringmer proceed to the third round of the cup. Thanks to Phil for being our linesman this week.
